Privacy Policy

We collect what we need to pick up your laundry, clean it properly and bring it back to the right door. Nothing more, and we don't sell any of it. This page explains exactly what that means.

Who we are

TidyToss is a hub-managed laundry and dry cleaning service operating in Gurugram, India, reachable at booktidytoss.com and through the TidyToss mobile app. In this policy, "we", "us" and "TidyToss" mean TidyToss and the team that runs it; "you" means anyone who books an order, creates an account or browses our website.

We are the data controller for the information described here. If you'd rather talk to a person than read a policy, write to support@booktidytoss.com and we'll answer plainly.

What we collect

All of it comes either from you directly or from the ordinary running of your order.

  • Who you are and where to find you — name, mobile number, email address, and the pickup and delivery addresses you save, including flat, tower, gate and any access notes you add.
  • Your orders — the items in each bag, service chosen, the Bag ID assigned to it, pickup and delivery slots, special instructions, and the condition notes our hub records at inspection.
  • Payments — amounts, invoices, refunds and payment status. Card and UPI details are handled by our payment provider and never stored on our systems; we only see the last few digits and the outcome of the transaction.
  • Conversations — WhatsApp, call, email and in-app chat with our support team, kept alongside the order they relate to.
  • Device and usage basics — app version, device type, operating system, crash reports and the pages or screens you use, so we can fix what breaks.
  • Location, only when you allow it — approximate device location to check we serve your area and to suggest an address. You can decline this and type your address instead; the app still works.
We do not collect sensitive personal data.

No government IDs, no biometrics, no health or financial profiles, and no advertising identifiers sold onward to data brokers.

Why we use it

Purpose
What it involves
Running your order
Assigning a Bag ID, routing your items to the right specialist, arranging pickup and delivery, and keeping your order status current.
Keeping you informed
Order updates by app notification, WhatsApp, SMS or email — pickup confirmations, delays, delivery windows and invoices.
Payments and records
Charging for completed orders, issuing invoices and refunds, and meeting tax and accounting obligations.
Claims and insurance
Investigating damage or loss, and supporting insurance claims on the items you hand over.
Support
Answering your questions with your order history in front of us, so you don't have to repeat yourself.
Improving the service
Understanding which services people use, where the app fails and how to make both better. Aggregated wherever it can be.
Safety and fraud
Protecting accounts, preventing misuse of promotions, and complying with the law.

We rely on the performance of our contract with you for the order itself, our legitimate interests for support, safety and service improvement, your consent for optional marketing and location access, and legal obligation for tax and records.

Garment photos and hub records

Every bag is photographed and counted when it reaches our hub, and pre-existing stains or damage are flagged. This is how two inspections per order actually work, and it's what lets us settle a claim fairly when something goes wrong.

These photos are of garments, not people. They are linked to your Bag ID and order, visible to the hub team and the specialist handling your items, and to you in the app. They are not used for marketing, not published anywhere, and not shared outside the people fulfilling or insuring your order.

Who we share it with

Only the people needed to get your laundry cleaned and returned, and only the part of your information they need.

  • Riders and delivery partners — your name, phone number, address, access notes and Bag ID for the pickup or drop assigned to them.
  • Laundry and dry cleaning specialists — the items, service required and condition notes, identified by Bag ID rather than your personal details.
  • Payment providers — to take payment and process refunds. They handle your card or UPI credentials under their own terms.
  • Insurers — order and inspection details when a claim is raised on your items.
  • Service providers we run on — hosting, messaging, notifications, analytics and customer support tooling, bound by contract to handle your data only on our instructions.
  • Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose, or must act to protect someone's safety or our rights.
We never sell your personal information.

We don't rent, trade or share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we don't build advertising profiles from your order history.

How long we keep it

  • Account details — while your account is active, and for a short period after you ask us to close it.
  • Order and invoice records — up to eight years, as required by Indian tax and accounting rules.
  • Garment inspection photos — typically 90 days after delivery, or until any related claim is resolved.
  • Support conversations — up to two years, so we have context if an issue resurfaces.
  • Device and usage data — generally up to 24 months, often in aggregated form that no longer identifies you.

When a retention period ends, we delete the data or anonymise it so it can no longer be traced back to you.

Your choices and rights

  • See and correct — view and edit your profile and addresses in the app, or ask us for a copy of what we hold.
  • Delete — ask us to close your account and erase your data, except records we must legally keep, such as invoices.
  • Withdraw consent — turn off location access or marketing messages at any time, in your device settings or via the unsubscribe link. Order-related messages continue while you have an active order.
  • Object or restrict — tell us if you disagree with how we're using your information, and we'll review it.
  • Complain — raise a grievance with us first; we aim to resolve it within 30 days, and you may approach the relevant data protection authority if you're not satisfied.

To exercise any of these, email support@booktidytoss.com from your registered address, or message us on WhatsApp. We may need to verify it's really you before acting.

How we protect it

Your data travels over encrypted connections and is stored on access-controlled systems in India. Only staff who need your information to do their job can see it, hub and specialist access is limited to the order in hand, and payment credentials never touch our servers.

No system is perfectly secure, so we also plan for failure: we keep backups, review access regularly, and if a breach ever affects your personal data we will notify you and the appropriate authority without undue delay.

Children

TidyToss is meant for adults. We don't knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18 or collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

When our service changes, this page changes with it. We'll update the "last updated" date above, and for anything that materially affects how we use your information we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use TidyToss after a change means you accept the updated policy.
